The Department was started with 3 dialysis machines. The department functions round the clock.

• The Department takes care of all types of nephrology cases, e.g. acute renal failure, chronic renal failure, acute and chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, renovascular hypertension, collagen disorders involving kidneys etc.
• Being a tertiary level hospital, complicated cases are referred to this department from various other centers
• Routine, immunofluorescent staining as well as electron microscopic examination facility available for renal biopsy specimens.
