Department of Diabetology was formally inaugurated on 17/02/2007. The department is working as a separate Comprehensive Diabetes Care Unit. Service of two well trained educators is available on all weekdays. One full time dietitian is also available as a part of the department. Service of Foot Care Technician is also available. Working in co-ordination with other supportive departments. We are supported by a well equipped Laboratory facility which is calibrated every month through External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) in association with Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore.

  • Ward patients visited daily by doctor, dietician and educator

Those who register for Diabetic Card will get the following:

Diabetic Chart
  • Diabetic Chart is provided for Diabetic Patients to record their blood sugar values at home and to bring to OPD at their scheduled followups

  • All patients inspected for foot complications
  • Monofilaments/Biothesiometer tests to assess foot sensation
  • ABI/Vascular doppler studies carried out
  • At risk foot identified and educated accordingly
  • Foot Care demonstrations provided
  • Special Offloading Footwear made available

 

Public awareness programme
  • Educational CD and movies on various aspects of diabetes/foot care during OP hours
  • Posters displayed on various aspects of diabetic care
  • Conducting patient education camps by Physician, Diabetic Educators, and Dietician on Foot care, diet, exercise, complications of diabetes, etc…
