Location and Surroundings

We, Paalana Institute of Medical Sciences, is situated in an eco-friendly area, near Palakkad town which is totally free from different types of atmospheric pollutions, which enables all to experience a calm, healthy and tranquil atmosphere. We have a well maintained spacious garden where we maintain a tiny bird sanctuary and Rest Huts for the convenience of the bystanders and visitors.

Area and Departments

Our institution is spread out in an area of 25 acres which has several structures to meet all needs of a well equipped Medical Institution.

Our central building has three finished floors with an area of more than 1,70,000 sq. feet. This building has a spacious Reception, Registration Departments, an advanced Clinical Laboratory, Pharmacy, different departments and their attachments.

We have a capacity of more than 250 beds and we have General Wards, Single Rooms and Deluxe Rooms for the patients. Our Institution is equipped with a full fledged Operation Theatre Complex constituting 5 Theatres with all necessary modern facilities. We have Intensive Coronary Care Unit equipped with ventilator facility, Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Paediatric ICU and well equipped Neonatal ICU, the only one in its kind in and around Palakkad. Apart from modern Scanning wing a well equipped Physiotherapy Department and an Optical Outlet with qualified opticians is working in the Hospital. We also have a neat and hygienic Canteen within the complex.

We have a 24 hour Casualty and Critical Care and Trauma Care Department. We also have 24-hour ambulance service.

Educational Aids

In our premises a School of Nursing is functioning and many students are passing out every year whom are trained in our Hospital.

Recognitions & Achievements

With much concern about the environment we have set up a modern waste disposal plant and waste water treatment plant with up-to-date technology, as per the norms of the government departments.

We are proud to hold one of the best Medical Institution award for two consecutive years, both are State Government Awards adjudged by the Pollution Control Board, Government of Kerala.

We are growing

As a part of our expansion programme the construction works are in full swing with a determined view and planning to develop our institution with Super Specialities in various important Medical and Surgical departments and also we plan to have Educational Institutions in different Medical and Paramedical fields.

Social Department - Welfare Programmes & other Features

• We extend medical facilities to the poor in remote villages by conducting regular free Medical Aid Camps.
• We have a unique welfare project – Mother Care project. See charitable services.
• We also have Master Health Check-Up Packages in different types to suite all groups of people.
• We have done and still doing many welfare programs for the poor who are below the poverty line.
• Putting in a nutshell, we are happy to say that we are committed to make available, all the possible modern medical amenities under one roof for the people in the days to come.
