Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre (JYOTHIS) is a part of State AIDS Control Society. It is an Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre where a person is counseled and tested for HIV on his free will or as advised by a Medical Practitioner. HIV testing and counseling services are key entry points to prevention of HIV infection and treatment. When availing counseling and testing services, people can access accurate information about HIV prevention and care, and undergo an HIV test in a supportive and confidential environment.
Functions
- Early detection of HIV
- Providing basic information on modes of transmission and prevention of HIV/AIDS for promoting behavioural change and reducing vulnerability
- Educate people with other HIV preventive measures, care and treatment services available.
ACHIEVEMENTS
- Paalana got the Best ICTC Centre Award - 2010 (for private hospitals) of Kerala State AIDS control Society
- There are 5238 tests have done in which 8 found positive and two indeterminate cases - (August 2011)
- Kuriakose Elias Service Society started HAPPI project in our campus.
